How Do I Share Alerts & Vault Items with Family Members? How Does It Work?

More about Family Sharing

Family members can now help each other stay safe by sharing urgent alerts and important, sensitive documents through Vault.

With Family Sharing, every adult member in your family can share Alerts & Vault items securely among each other. You can share alerts with other members through your Settings page. You can also request to receive alerts from other members by clicking on their Profile page in the Aura app.

Transactions

Monitoring your financial accounts can help you catch early signs of fraud. When you share these alerts, your family members will receive alerts if we detect unusual or large transactions posted in your accounts.

Credit

Aura monitors your credit reports across the three bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion—to help you identify activity you didn’t authorize.

When you share your credit alerts, your family members will be notified of any new inquiries into your credit file, such as:

  • Account inquiries
  • Pending accounts
  • New accounts
  • New signer or account holder

And signs that new credit accounts are being opened:

  • Account applications, inquiries, and new accounts
  • Blocked credit inquiries
  • Experian CreditLock turned on or off
  • Identity verification requests
  • New address reported

And activity that negatively impacts your credit:

  • Account status changes to delinquent or bankrupt (or changes back)
  • Credit card over-limit
  • Debt settlement
  • If a creditor tries to locate you
  • If you’re reported as deceased
  • Late payments reported
  • Lost or stolen credit card
  • New or updated tax liens
  • Public records (showing legal action against you)

Your credit reports will not be shared with anyone.

Vault

If you share your Vault alerts, your family members will be notified if any of the following items are exposed in a data breach:

  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Home address
  • Legal name
  • Phone number
  • Social Security Number

If you have added these items to your Vault, alerts on these will be shared:

  • Driver’s license
  • Financial account numbers
  • Health account numbers
  • Loyalty card number
  • Online accounts
  • Passport number

If we detect signs of identity theft in public record databases, those alerts would also be shared:

  • Home titles in your name
  • Records of crimes and sexual offenses
  • USPS change of address

Family members will also be notified when we send a Data Removal Request on your behalf.

You can share items from your Vault as well: you can share them one item at a time, as part of a shared collection, or you can share your entire Vault.
